An anarchist group named "Einige Anarchist:innen" has claimed responsibility for the arson. In a statement, the perpetrators indicated that their targets were companies in the IT, defense, and artificial intelligence industries, such as Siemens and Atos. The group accused these corporations of supporting militarization and surveillance.

The blackout had serious consequences for the southeastern part of the city:
